Sad
What a sad sight. Gone but not forgotten. This was the Big Ways AM 610/WROQ 95.1 studios on 400 Radio Road in Charlotte. It was demolished this week. Sigh. See more on my main site at www.thatwasradio.com.

Yes, it is a sad day, Kahuna....
As a teenager, I'd listen to the legendary WROQ during the afternoons (J.J. McKay, I believe, but my memory is fuzzy)...
I remember the harsh winter of 87 when Chuckie "Boo Boo" Baron talked about sticking his "goobar" in the snow....
My how Charlotte radio has changed.....

PS...love the legendary WBT jingles and airchecks. Would love to hear more, including from Hello Henry (rip, dear friend), Mike Collins and others....
Yes, I, too was sad to see -- well, actually NOT see -- the old studios on Radio Road. I still remember driving up there before dawn when I did mornings with, lessee, who the heck was it? Anyway, I remember Larry Sprinkle was there, and some new guy on mornings, and Jack Daniel.
I guess I thought those studios would always be there. I guess it's been 20 years since I visited Charlotte.
Buy me a ticket. I miss the place. And it's colder than hell here.
